I have a mantic internal rear window guard on my 110 USW and I think it looks pritty good, it fits nice. Neatly and it's black. I also have no issues looking in the rearview mirror through the load guard and the window guard Russell

Mobile storage system's ones are on the inside and have a hole to allow window opening with ease.

Correct,, but the "hole" for window opening is only about 2" ,, and watch your fingers if the window is stiff California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

I do not like the attention they attract and personally think there are already enough holes that are leaking/causing corrosion.
So i solved the jumping dogs, corrosion, ridiculous pricing syndrome and the opening of the side windows with a 40 euro ikea visit. :) Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Ventilation for dogs?
Minimum requirement would be a pair of these on rear side doors Cost of £39/pair OK, I am not sure if those would be sufficient for dogs in really hot weather External rear side window grilles like these Fitting externally this grill will secure the rear window of your Land Rover Defender. Designed to fit neatly and providing full window coverage for the Defender this grill is constructed from 2mm mild steel and is zinc and powder coated black. Each grill is equipped with 8 brackets to attach it to your vehicle when out and about in the UK or travelling through the continent on expedition. Allow your rear side windows to be fully open. We can supply these for about £115 External window grilles as supplied to and fitted by a fellow forum member Click image to enlarge Brendan Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Last edited by leeds on 18th Mar 2012 7:32pm. I have the external rear grills (ask Leeds for the good ones ) They are be brilliant for the dogs and can be opened/closed fully and easily from inside... but look a bit "serious":
Click image to enlarge Personally, I don't care as my 110 looks a bit mean anyway Please note: old photo - chequerplate, rivets, wheels etc. are now all black Matt Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Tell someone you love them today because life is short. The vents that slide into the rear windows work very well and are fully waterproof. Give supprising good ventilation and fit nicely under the rear seat. Would not be good for a hot day to leave to dog in the car.
JK No the other left . . . |

Ze, those look very nice indeed. Although how are they attached? It looks like they're drilled on from here?
Are there any which could be a semi-permanent feature on the exterior? |

They're riveted from the outside (wet-assembled with sealant, also to prevent corrosion). However, I'm considering drilling them out sometime and using rivnuts with security screws, so they can be removed occasionally for re-painting etc. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. Do you do them for just the rear three windows (for a hardtop)? Interior ones would be better though. Sam Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Good things come to the wild and free |

The ones I have seen tend to rattle - The ones above look as though they probably don't because they are secured differently. Would I be correct in saying that?
