2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Epsom Green

CLutch

My 08 90 Hardtop has a rattling clutch which I’m looking at getting replaced soon. I’ve been looking at a few options for replacement but not sure which is the best option for me. It's standard with no modifications and I do a bit of occasional heavy towing. I think my options are LOF either road or extreme, Clutchfix heavy duty, Transit 4x4, Genuine, OEM. Can anyone offer me any advice as I don’t want to be getting it done again any time soon.

I’m also going to get the gearbox output shaft changed while the clutch is being done again looking at my options for replacement Genuine, Ashcroft, LOF extreme spec.

Is there anything else worth checking / replacing while the gearbox is off?

Do we get a forum discount with any suppliers?

As recommended to me by Blackwolf on here in the past. I would ensure the Gearbox output adaptor shaft is checked and well greased whilst the clutch is being done is an ideal opportunity.
Luckily for me, mine was in good knick but was then greased before reassembly.
Some however, are not and are in a bad state due to being 'dry' assembled from the factory so have suffered a lot of wear, fretting and rust. They fail unexpectedly without warning too which is worrying and usually the above is the cause of this happening.
So it's a good oppertunity to have it checked and lubed, hopefully it'll be decent like mine and won't need replacing if your lucky.
