I agree. Obviously, need to bear in mind this is still all a marketing campaign, but it's more my kind of marketing. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Great stuff. The size of the components is reassuringly heavy duty.

It does all look promising... Wonder if Mechanical LSD centre and rear diffs will be an option.....???? It doesn't matter how bad it is, It can always get worse...

I notice that the graphics show six stud hubs but the real thing has very LR-esque five stud ones. Darren

It wouldn't surprise me if it has the exact same stud pattern as a Defender. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I guess it's possible that it just has LR hubs fitted during the prototype stage for expediency but there would seem to be a certain logic to making it compatible. That way they literally wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel Laughing Darren

I was looking at that too. They have said in the last update they are going for six stud I was hoping for the five stud Land Rover pattern too but it doesn't look like it will be.

I was happy when the engineer mentioned that there are no electronics on the suspension, and that they would be using progressive rate springs.

So far, looking good IMHO.

I like the fact that the front shock absorbers & their bushes will be easily replaceable. Just did my 110’s, and What a pain just getting to the mounts is! 1955 Series 1 107" Pick up.

France 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Corris Grey
Interesting, Mark Evans finishes off by saying “Join me next time to find out about the engineering of this radical new 4x4”.

Honestly I don’t think there’s anything ‘radical’ about this at all. It’s what the Defender should have been, i.e. as a Puma is now, just better built. That front end suspension set up looks like a Defender whose owner has raided the Gwyn Lewis and any number of upgrade suspension suppliers, parts catalogues. Better, stronger trailing arms, drag link, Panhard Rod, progressive springs, HD dampers and no wiring. If this is ever actually launched, and sold at a sensible price, it will serve to prove to Land Rover and McGovern what could have been done, indeed what should have been done. I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....
