Observations:
1. Can you only work for Ineos if you live in a laboratory-white house? 2. I like how often they say 'Grenadier'. Phwoar. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Actually I haven’t, although the Regimental Adjutant might have something to say about it if I did. Test driver position would do me. Monsieur Le Grenadier

One bloke paying the bills ~ cuts through all the internal politics and committees...
Although, what happened to Dyson is a cautionary tale. |

And there are punches aimed squarely at JLR in every video too. |

Absolutely, but then they are an easy target; and if it's true they refused to sell redundant production equipment to INEOS then there's probably a score to be settled.

I just hope there is a big enough market for it to succeed. I was musing on what the price might be. It looks to me like it will be a direct rival to the 70 series Land Cruiser, but with substantially more sophisticated suspension and transmission. The 5 door wagon 70 series starts at about AU$70,000 (£38,000). I’m not sure what taxes that includes, but you’d imagine Toyota’s production and development will be as efficient as anywhere.
Given the above I think it will nothing short of a miracle if Grenadier can live up to the hype and come in under £45,000. Maybe Jim is prepared to make a loss to get the brand established, 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I hope it wipes the floor with the new pretender and gives McGovern a good kick in the nuts (if he has any).

Really hope they make a success of this it will come down to size of market and i suspect there will be very little profit in it to start with. It certainly looks like it would fill some of the gap left from land rovers shift in direction.
loved the shot of the chap on the nice clean R&D/production line going at it with an angle grinder 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE RR MY23 HSE PHEV D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold D4 MY12 HSE - Gone D3 MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten |

It was interesting to note that the CEO of Ineos Automotive said that we should see some photographs in the next few weeks. Let's hope he keeps his word. We've seen the chassis and suspension so would be nice to see some bodywork dropped on top of it. Defender 90XS SW

In that Coventry Telegraph article, I think their "glimpse" of the Grenadier, is nothing more than a "glimpse" of the good old Lada Niva!!
Could well be the case that the Grenadier team played with a Niva as part of their evaluation of different 4x4s. I'm not ashamed to say we had one for a while and it was very good at what it did for the money. |
