Which Sat Nav to buy?
I more of a map bloke but realising a Sat Nav could useful for my wife Rolling Eyes

Tom Tom seem to come out well in reviews. Which model/deals/features should I go for. I only want a cheap basic model for the UK. OR what about the GPS you guys sometimes talk about, only want it for road use though!

Thanks

HTC now I am confused Confused I rarely use a mobile (first thing to go in the bin when I packed my job up!) and always preferred a diary to a Blackberry etc - not a gadget bloke....and don't like monthly tarriffs Neutral

Fair enough and to be honest my "smart" phone is often a PITA but the satnav on it works pretty well as does the "Tracker" for running/cycling stats.

Not useful if you don't have one though!

TomTom seem to do well in tests but other makes are well worth looking at. Halfords always seem to have half price deals on Sat Nav!

I spent AGES looking for a BMW without Satnav/i-drive because I utterly hate it - doesn't even do full postcodes yet is a £2k extra!! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Zagayto you are not allowed to use a sat nav in a Defender regardless of gender, it ruins the image. Laughing Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Good point. Plus satnav assumes you'll be using proper roads... Laughing Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Rolling with laughter I'll hide it - just been down to Halfords. I thought they were more compicated, didn't need to ask Embarassed £100 gets a simple Euro cover one with speed camera checks. Keep it a couple of years and trade it against another - won't need to update it before then and no need for a live update one - job done NEW TOY, rear camara next Twisted Evil -

Zag, I have a tomtom One Europe (few years old now) which is brilliant.

My mother bought it's equivalent in Halfords a couple of weeks back and that's brilliant too.

Don't spend more than £120 on a tomtom, make sure it's got all of Europe on it and you won't be disappointed.

Thumbs Up
