In all seriousness, you could probably return the tomtom, do a bit more research and go from there. not sure of halfrauds return policy.

All good food for thought. My original idea was to go down the road of getting a screen that I could pipe whatever I wanted into it however I was looking last night and Alpine and Sony do some nice units (Sony based on TomTom) which have satnav and loads of connectivity to attach other screens but more on topic to bring Camera's in

These are about a grand (I am sure there are cheaper to) but when you consider TrailAir is £650 for 1 camera and some tyre monitors then it isn't all that bad.

More research I think. Only problem is most of them are double height units

Anyone moded their dash to fit a double height stereo ?

Why not just buy a cheap wireless reversing camera ala

http://www.amazon.co.uk/WIRELESS-VISION-CO...amp;sr=8-1

This could fit to sunvisor, you could then have a standard sat nav. All removable. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

The Garmin Nuvi 1410 £125 from Halfords is excellent as a NAV & Bluetooth Phone Speaker but also allows access to Engine OBD2 system and will check/Clear fault codes with the bluetooth adapter:

That looks really good and loads of features , but it comes back to the problem of space , just been sitting looking at the dash and thinking if those buttons where not above or those heating controls below ............. But either way it is starting to cut the car up which is not really an option which I am in love with.

Wondering re one of those units that attach to the roof , the frames that sit in the middle between the sun visors , I wonder if I could get a double height unit in one of those , I am guessing connections would not be as easy but may work.

Then I would have to work out what to put where the original radio was lol

I have a strange/unusual wife - she's a decent driver, quite into cars and can read a map. I have checked numerous times an she's DEFINITELY female... Wink Laughing Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

You are very lucky , I get "I can't read the map while you are driving" , to which the obvious reply is " well if I have to stop I might as well read it myself " to which I get " go on then"

Oh and the "it was that junction back there"

On the driving front I can't complain , won't tow but has driven any vehicle I have bought over the years.

Glad she isn't into cars enough to be on the forum Whistle 2011 Defender XS 110 Station Wagon - Rejected

I must be odd - I've managed without a reversing camera for years - I use the mirrors and my eyes by turning head and looking over my shoulder ..... John
