United Kingdom 2003 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Aintree Green
I've got a county with most of the bits it would appear. Says County on V5. Has aircon, boosts, heated seats & screen, remote central locking with internal alarm sensors, high level brake light and CD but cloth seats and no ABS. Later axle in place. Learn something new everyday!

The presence of a high level brake light is related to whether the vehicle is a commercial or a passenger vehicle rather than the trim spec. Darren

OK great, would it state XS on the V5 form? Any other obvious indications that it's a genuine XS spec defender?

To be sure I would say it is best to use a decent VIN decoder. When you go to look at a Defender type the VIN into your phone and see what it left the factory with. Thumbs Up

As an example my 2000 110 CSW Td5 had every option available (Webasto, AC ABS TC etc) at that time but steel wheels...

Good luck in your search

I shall be sure to use that VIN checker when the time comes Thumbs Up

As an aside (and maybe i should start a new thread for this?) apart from year (10 vs 15p) and general condition/mileage, is there anything else worth keeping in mind when going to buy a TD5 or defender in general for that matter?

I have read about checking for rust, has it been used heavily for towing etc, but if you know of anything else I'd be interested to hear it.

Again cheers for all the previous replies.

If buying a Td5 always pull the red plug off the ecu and check for oil Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Make sure TC/abs light comes on and then goes off at 6mph.

Use fuel prime to listen to how noisy the fuel pump is
