Terrain Tech Galvanised Bulkheads
Hi all

I've had a search in the usual spots, but can't find any info on the Galv bulkheads from Terrain Tech

They seem to be quite a bit cheaper than Sheilder and include postage in the costs too, which is always nice. Has anyone seen / fitted one?

There's no point in saving a few hundred quid if it's a nightmare to fit Laughing 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

Just had a look at their website & the photo they use for their bulkheads looks identical to the one used by Shielder, even down to the out of alignment windscreen bracket holes... for a company that manufacture their own bulkheads from scratch that is a bit suspect to me Shocked

It’s bad when you can look at a box of bolts, clips and screws and know their location, vintage and placement Laughing

Whats yours? and I’ll give him a gentle nudge when I’m there on Friday. Quality takes time you know Whistle

The bulkheads vary on price depending on quality and repairs required. Contact him through eBay is maybe best and tell him Nick sent you Thumbs Up

thanks nick

Problem is I don't have anywhere to store my truck in bits, so i'll need to buy a bulkhead outright and then trade mine back in when it's all swapped over.

Mine is starting to go next to the vent flap, a pillars and foot well top seam... so won't be a quick fix if I do go down that route 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

No problems Ross

He has stock of some needing repaired at times or might do a deposit for return. I’ve bought them from him before without having something to go against.

Sounds like a typical bulkhead repair Laughing

Hopefully the shielded bulkheads fit better than the Chassis Shocked

I've got a galvanised original chassis with some slightly wonky outrigger repairs... so I know it's going to be a bit of a nightmare whatever one I end up getting. The current standard bulkhead fit is terrible Mad 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

Ross, my local Indy have fitted a few galv bulkheads, although I don't know who supplied them, and have had significant problems getting each one to fit with everything else lining up properly!

The general feeling is that hot dip galvanising results in a bulkhead being subject to warping due to the shape of a bulkhead and the boxed sections on it resulting in temperature changes in the dip.

But you know me Ross, I may be talking my usual load of horse m4nur3!!

I had been told that what was needed was a 'jig' or frame to support the bulkhead in place while being dipped to stop it warping/bending. Obviously I couldn't manage that for a one-off, but maybe that's where trade suppliers come in?

Anyway, I got mine galved locally and must have been lucky because it came out fine. Donald
