Last monday i was repairing/replacing the inner seal of the rear axle.
On the left (with grey ring inside) is the new one. On the right is the old one (without grey ring). So my question is. Should it be installed with the gray ring Or without? Click image to enlarge a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |

Might help if you say what year/axle the car is/has and what part number the seal is?
