If I recall correctly, if for example the code is 4356;
press the 1 button 4 times, press the 2 button 3 times, press the 3 button 5 times, press the 4 button 6 times. Then I think hold the up arrow on the tuning button for a few second and it'll beep storing the code. |

I think SAFE means that you (or someone else) has already exceeded the number of attempts:

I think if you enter the wrong code it works like this;
Enter it incorrectly 3 times the radio shows 'safe' for 10 minutes, after 10 min you can try the code again, if you get it wrong again it'll show 'safe' for 20 min, after 20 min it will let you try again, but every time you get it wrong the waiting time doubles. I think you have to leave the radio on for the waiting time until the 'safe' disappears. This is only from memory though, and I may be confusing things with the old Rover/Phillips radios. |

Followed this info.
Put in the 4 number code using each of the first 4 preset numbers on the radio. Each press of a preset button moves the code number up one. Once the 4 number code is entered press the preset 5 button to complete entering code. Switch on and turn the volume up full to drown out the noise of the drive train. Willie Thanks for the replies. |
