I am due to get a remap soon and I was interested in this reply where it mentions "upgrade the adapter shaft from the gearbox"... is anyone able to confirm whether this is really necessary and why would it be required...?
Thanks in advance |

Mine was remapped by TD5inside and it didn't need any of that.
The adapter shaft was changed at the same time as the clutch. No need to change it before unless it fails. Fabio |

The clutch and adaptor shaft are known weak points on standard Defenders.
My point was there is little point getting one remapped if the clutch rattles and the adaptor shaft is throwing rust out the bottom of the housing, because the extra power will just make them fail sooner. |

first mod without a remap (unless you are driving through water a lot) is the airbox mod, search on here. Makes a difference and costs nowt except about 1 hr of your time. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
