Think I’ve mentioned it before but the number plate, if not the vehicle, lived around here for a while a couple of years back. Ray

Must admit I'm not a massive fan of the Ibex look but can't really put my finger on why - perhaps it's just not square enough compared to a Defender .
Having said that I do like Mike's 300 that he built with a custom rear for it (well even more custom since it was a DIY job) Click image to enlarge. He's since dropped down to 33s I think to help with general drive-ability but everyone agrees it looked a bit better on the 35s. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

Yes it was, it was once owned by Ed Wobbly Cobley, too.
It was a bit battered when I had it, but managed tidy it up and I roller painted it green (no surprise there). The Maxidrive halfshafts were twisted, I couldn't get replacements, though they still removed easily and stood up to lots more abuse! |

Local chap to me has recently taken delivery of a LS3 powered Ibex, he has apparently spent a ton of money on a very high spec build, its parked outside his house, I've yet to see it on the road

There is a company near Holmfirth that I believe at one stage ran 3 Ibexes, Id love one, seems like a logical progression seeing as I wont be able to afford a G-Wagen any time soon!

Is it red? @chris, they do make a lot of sense, though having owned one and been involved in building an F8, it won't be Mercedes fit and finish, hopefully FOERS will be around building these for some time to come. I'm a fan. |

Talking of being around for some time to come:
Click image to enlarge I B E X (@IbexVehicles) Tweeted: 30 years ago the first IBEX prototype was tested by driving through the surf & rock pools on a Scottish beach. It’s still on the road today, original chassis, no rot, after a v hard life. I wonder how many 30 year old coastguard 4x4’s are still on the road. https://t.co/NYTWnbO8eU https://twitter.com/IbexVehicles/status/1311582285876076545?s=20 I'd happily trade some fit and finish issues for that type of longevity. |
