Ehhh which three nuts Embarassed

I have taken the airbox out several times. Yes it's a pig but first undo the bottom grommets, just a bit of wiggling and manly pressure. Than the back ones. Take the top cowl off and slide the airbox under the airco line. Than downwards and out it's comes. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

3 bolts, located horizontally on the inner arch between shock tower and front end of wing. 10mm sized head if I remember correctly. m

Same here. I don’t see the three nuts. If they inside the air filter housing then they’re completely invisible to me, or maybe I’m just stoopid? Smile Drink Coffee, Talk to Strangers and Take Photos.

I think that anyone who has had their vehicle in for the Intercooler lower hose Support bracket mod - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30113....racket+mod - may well be missing these bolts.

I think they are removed for access to fit the mod, and main dealers being main dealers they have not refitted when the airbox is put back in.

Might explain why so many people can't find them and have no recollection of having them removed?

My 2015 110 has the hose support bracket already in place from the factory but the air box support is riveted to the inner wing, not bolted. Dave

Re: Puma airbox removal
Since I found the drawing that I need on this thread, I thought I would post here.

I have my right mudguard off the Defender, and noticed that one of the airbox mounts, #9, part number PYA10008L is kind of perishing.  I thought I would replace, simple.... until a quick search by Mr. Google shows a bonkers price. Lowest I found GB£41.53.

Question is, anyone made / knows an alternative rubber?

I will be in the mean time checking is the VW part number 036129689B is of the right dimension or not. For the price of 1x Landrover part, I could get 40x of those!!!!. But unsure when I can do that Sad

Follow up and for the benefit of those who might be searching or read this, I think that PYA10008L is Ford part number 95BB-9B929-AA which can be bought much cheaper than the LandRover part.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, i have 2 different mounts (damaged mudguard in previous ownership) and the one that has deteriorated is the Ford part.

I compared with the VW part, see my previous post for part number, and they seem to be so similar. Below are pictures of the 3 parts I have. Left is the Ford part, middle is the other mount I found in the airbox support bracket, and the right one is a worn out VW part.

I will try to purchase the VW part, and see how they fit.
