Local councils!

Our local 'main' road, does not have a white centre line is breaking away down the edge which I presume is due to compaction of the underlying ground. Now this winter we have had a load of potholes appearing, Well this year, yes 2015 they 'repaired' the worse potholes by throwing tarmac in and are allowing passing traffic to compact it.

Now I am not a highway engineer but they do not appear to have sealed the original hole but they have left small holes potholes so that water forms a puddle up to an inch deep. Now I am guessing that some of the water is already seeping under the new fill tarmac, but even if it isn't, water when it freezes expands according to my knowledge which will damage the new fill.

Now according to my understanding water tends to flow downhill. On another local road which has drainage gully down length of road guess where they put the lowest one? NOT at the lowest point so guess what deep puddle right across the road and guess what happens when the temperature drops below 0C?

Local councils don't you just love them?

Don't you just love companies that don't ring you back when you have contacted them with a question about the product you want to buy but need some clarification.

Rang a company that gets good recommendation on here about a roof rack and access ladder on Saturday morning, person who can give answer busy with customer but will ring me back in 20 minutes. its now over ninety six hours later and I'm still waiting. It looks like they don't need my money or custom so I shall look else where. Don't make old people mad.

@ Brendan

1 of the skills that I had to master whilst serving was airfield repair. That meant repairing huge potholes, or in technical terms, a bomb crater. There is a definite skill to doing it properly. Digging out the hole, cutting the edges so they were straight and filling the hole with the correct grade of fill for the job in hand.

Not as simple as filling a hole with some hot tarmac and hoping the for the best 110 D250 SE HT

Embarassed Was just a stone caught between the stone guard (HA!) and the disk. Embarassed

Got the wheel off, cleared the stone and refitted in 20 minutes though so not far off F1 times!

Why don’t Burger Joints like McDonalds, Burger King, etc. Give you a plate, even a paper one, instead you have to eat off a filthy table. Today in McDonalds what was even worse some young spotty thing wiped the table I was eating at with a wet cloth that just screamed I am covered in millions of germs.

Yes I know you get your food in a piece of paper that you can spread out on the table or you can eat it off a grubby tray, just though a disposable paper plate would be better. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Not very often, though sometimes when I stop off at a motorway service area the mood takes me if I am hungry. Plus the other food outlets that are there are overpriced, food overcooked and tasteless, though at some of them you do get a plate.
