There's a car park down Camden Road, past the bike shop, that usually has spaces and has a high enough bar to allow 110's in (at 2.05 metres car height).

That car park usually has spaces. My 130 does not fit beneath the barrier, however, so park with care...

Remember that the Belvedere Estate (the private roads off Mount Pleasant, on the left-hand-side as you go up the hill, between the old stone pillars)* is private and that parking restrictions are not enforced of a weekend. Most regulars are wise to it, and it does fill up fairly quickly, but it's my first port of call if I have to park in town.

Well, Naturally!

Thanks for the top tip Joel. I usually try the high street down to the station, behind the pantiles and then up by the forum and usually find something.
Handy to know 130 shape spaces though for future reference Whistle

Local councils!

Our local 'main' road, does not have a white centre line is breaking away down the edge which I presume is due to compaction of the underlying ground. Now this winter we have had a load of potholes appearing, Well this year, yes 2015 they 'repaired' the worse potholes by throwing tarmac in and are allowing passing traffic to compact it.

Local councils don't you just love them?

Brendan

Well I posted that on 12th January, one of the potholes errrr sort of 'repaired' on 12th January is still filled in. Well the snow on our local 'major' road has disappeared. Now one of the repairs is still there about 3 ft long 15 wide and 4" deep. Right adjacent to the repair is another pot hole about 4" deep, 15" wide and only 2.5 ft long.

Now is that first 'repair' a successful repair or not?

Recently, our local council spent two weeks repairing the half mile of road that runs past our house.
There had been nothing wrong with it before the repairs. The half mile to the south of it, however, is in desperate need of repair. Could somebody have made a mistake..............?

reach out

An unfortunately creepy term that is means "to contact" or similar. Brings to mind grasping and undesirable contact from strangers.

1) Charles, please reach out to Jane and provide her the information she requires.
2) My (political) campaign will reach out to every voter.

Why is it that when you ring an Insurance company call centre over the weekend to get a mistake in the certificate they sent you corrected do you then find that that they have not corrected the mistake but created another which means you have ben happily driving round for 3 days without the correct insurance cover. Litter in particular
People who think it is acceptable to wander the streets grazing on fried chicken dropping the bones as they go. When I took my son's dog out last night, he managed to find three bones which I had to try get off him. It's easy to spot them in daylight and steer him away but in the dark I don't stand a chance against his sense of smell. In the litter louts' defence there was no sign of the takeaway food containers, they presumably made it to the bin.
