110 CSW Doors
I have a couple of spots of rust appearing on my TD5 110 CSW 2nd Row doors and I want to get them sorted before they get too much worse.

- both have a small area of penetrating rust near the window frame above the door catch. is this weldable? rust is about 1 inch square in both cases.

I think the door skins are aluminium.

The door skins are ali. The door frames are steel. Should be weldable.

Ah, my mistake. I thought they were introduced at the same time as the steel rear door. Darren

Thanks for all the responses, been away for a few days so not had chance to catch up.

Its a 2004 model. So all steel then.

Next job is to find a welder near Wells.

One way to find out if they're all steel, use a magnet near the center of the door away from the frame. The all steel doors should be have pressed steel frames, so have the rounded corners, and fitted to 2005 vehicles onwards. Ali skinned doors have welded frames, you can see the welds in the corners.

No. Steel frame ali door skins. I believe the change was 2007 with the Pumas. Never seen a standard TD5 with one peice doors.

My '05 TD5 had the newer all steel doors, which is what led to my earlier comment. Darren

Late Td5s have the "Puma" side doors.

If the inside of the top of the door is in one-piece with rounded corners then it's a "Puma" door. If it is welded from 3 pieces, with angular corners it is the earlier fabricated frame, alloy-skinned door.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

The doors are welded in three parts at the top, so steel with ally skins then!

Which doors are better, the "Puma" rounded corner ones or the earlier square corner ones?
My 2005 TD5 110 has the later type.
