Cold radiator, Hot pipework & header tank..
Hi all.
I'm all very new to the 2.4 puma engine after moving on from my 200tdi. The temptreture gauge isn't going above half or normal operating level so it's not overheating as such but I'm just slightly concerned. With the engine warmed up to the half way point on the gauge, the top radiator hose is hot, the whole of the radiator is cold, the bottom hose is cold, the coolant header tank is hot. So the top rad hose is hot witch mean the thermostat is opening yes? But the whole of the rad is cold? Is this blocked up inside do you think or am I just being paranoid? My old 200tdi the radiator would be warm/ hot all over and the bottom hose would be slightly warm. The bottom hose on my puma is stone cold, but the header tank is red hot same as the top hose..
any ideas chaps or is this normal??
Thanks

Top radiator hose is hot that means the thermostat is opening doesn't it as it's getting hot up to the radiator. Whole of the rad and bottom hose is cold meaning rad blocked inside??

Thanks for the link, just read how the cooling system works and sounds just like the thermostat isn't opening as the coolant get to the radiator without passing through the thermostat on these engines unlike 200tdi/300tdi units.
Thanks
