Looks a good day.

Salisbury Plain mud is an especially pleasant type that sets rock hard underneath. On my last trip there the alternator expired due to immersion in said mud and as I drove back to Sussex in the dark the lights were getting dimmer and dimmer - all good fun

It was then a full day with the pressure washer, hose and brushes to clean it. And new brake pads all round.

well luckily I haven't had that misfortune but it is certainly very gritty mud!

Wheels are off today and I'm at the snowfoam stage now. Out with the wax in a bit!

On the way home down the M5 it was really heavy rain that did a fairly good job of the wheel arches

Actually I have had one problem since the deep wading - I have lost the horn

Seems to now just make a feeble squeal

I wish i had your set up for having a thorough landy clean

I have just noticed that you have not got a " defender " sticker on just above the grill or some wording on the bonnet grafty99 ? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

It was fantastic and non damaging which is great for me

We did the best part of 80 miles off road in the day which made it seem like a proper little adventure

As for the defender sticker over the grille - I removed it because I think it makes it look more simple at the front. Plus it's hard to mistake what it is so I didn't think it needed to be there

Well yes and no, I hadn't put the black nut caps on whilst it was on the axle stands. Well spotted and I will give you 5 grafty points but that isn't what I had in mind

I'll change my question to - spot the difference between the last posted photo and the previous photos of my defender.

Hint - Snatch was EXTREMELY close
