Yeah george are you going to touch the bottom end? Might be worth looking at some upgrades there if you have the ££ When i did my k series engine i did look at the bottom end, but the pistons were £500, I did toy with the idea but i thought the car just isnt worth it. i threw nearly 10k at it before, yeah i threw 10k at a rover metro Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

The company I'm using is making me solid dowels for locating the head. The clamp pressure for the standard bolts is fine for what I'm doing, I would imagine you'd have to be running serious boost to need anything more substantial. I'm getting standard replacements
![]() So to answer the question no I don't think it does, unless you buy it from somewhere like Turner Engineering who build them up into kits ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Oh right, I thought you could only get them from turners
![]() Will you be doing the work yourself? If so please take pictures of the new head in all its glory I'd be interested to see it. Mine being a 10p may need one when the time comes.... |

Turners are the most well known but I wanted my valve gear putting into a new head as I know it's been well looked after. I'm using Wards Engineering in Rugby who are fitting my valve gear and building up the head (also turning some solid dowels for me).
Of course I'll take some pictures when I receive it and during the fitting process ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

If the option is there to run the better head bolts and you have the budget, I would. Just to be a fanny

I'm sure the standard bolts are good for a bit more power yet

The wipers weren't broken
![]() They're now silky smooth and sweep/park reliably. I have converted from cable to rod and link, much better ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |
