Uploaded the new software and left the. 10mil EGR blanking plate in place, just been for a long blast out and what a difference!!! Thumbs Up

Cars smoother on acceleration, seems to pull better through the gears and unexpectedly seems a lot smoother on lift off Question

More test miles over the next few days and will report further but at the moment NICE!!!! Bow down Bow down Puma 2.2 90 Stationwagon

Pete, some feedback on the EGR shut map, much smoother, quieter and more responsive, even mpg appears to have improved!! Still have a flat spot around 2500 rpm. This is accentuated in taller gears, worst of all when changing from 5th to 6th on the motorway. The gear change lands the revs at almost exactly 2500 and speed decreases from 80ish to about 70, before the revs begin to recover. If I change earlier, the engine appears to pass through this range much easier, but I like going fast!? Cheers - overall verdict - very happy customer Thumbs Up

Pete is still working with me on this and I have made a couple of changes to date. I had an Allisport intercooler with ITG filter, Safari snorkel, Twisted straight through exhaust, cat back and BAS EGR reduction plate. I have replaced the ITG with the original filter and the EGR plate with the original gasket. Since then Pete has worked on the map to work in harmony with the other mods. By all counts my issues are not normal, but I guess anyone else with similar issues should contact Pete for assistance.

Pete,

If I understand correctly, your 'EGR remap' keeps the EGR valve shut permanently?

Is this EGR remap available as a standalone remap, i.e., keeping the original LR map and just 'adding' the EGR shut patch? If so is this detectable by LR?

Hi
Yes im telling the EGR valve to not open at all during any of its operating strategys.

The EGR soloution can only be had with my tuning, other than that im not sure how i could provide it with no mean to program it to your car.

Pete,

could this EGR shut command be programmed into and be used with something like BBS's Sync-Mate, basically a stand alone product which could be installed and taken off with out the need for a remap interface?

Hello. Well, if I see the issue is that after voiding the engine gives the EGR fault, but not immediately and no way to give the reason, everything points to this that comment. EGR opening force has to raise the temperature of air in the collector. If the ECU does not detect this increase, after a failure so time passes.

To avoid this, you must a microcontroller that after receiving the servo signal of the EGR, it intercepts the signal from the intake manifold temperature and artificially cause a slight increase in temperature. This increase would first real measure of how phenomenon to learn more or how much and then emulate the micro. It's easy, wonder why nobody has thought about.

An attempt was this? http://www.clublandrovertt.org/index.php?a...ype=avatar

The EGR being shut has a minimal effect on EGT's being produced. Higher EGT's come as a result of increasing engine torque/power over standard, and this is far more relevent than the increase you'd see from isolating the EGR system.

There are strategies within the puma engine management to reduce engine torque should coolant / Cylinder Head Temps become too great, hence helping to prevent engine damage through excess heat.

With our EGR shut software modifications, it is easily reversible by simply reflashing the PCM software with a version that enables EGR actuation. I expect Pete's solution allows this as well, in a very similar way.

Any physical engine modifications to isolate the EGR are also easily reversible.

Regards,

Gary.

Is Piter at what this one being employed in the software? And this honest: he become a microcontroller who after receiving sign in the servo of the EGR, intercepts the sign of the temperature of the collector of admission and to provoke of artificial form a light increase of temperature. This increase it would be first that to measure of royal form to know more or meno all that is and to emulate it then with the mike. http://www.clublandrovertt.org/index.php?a...ype=avatar
