It's not a pool ball, it's a classic gear lever knob!

jajajaja Laughing Laughing Laughing

I`m in the same boat now, the gear knob starting to fell apart after several years with cracks.
Probably I will take the Jeepy approach using the 12mm insert to put a new knob
¿Someone have pictures of the insert?

Cheers!

Edit:
I found it...

Thanks Jeepy

How do you fix the knob to the rod?

My first attempt of Knob using the 3D printer looks Ok in the shape but a little small. I will repeat the print but bigger.

Cheers!

I recommend a 12mm thread (like Blackwolf did), for your solution you can use a "Rampa-Muffe" (do not know the expression in englisch, do a search with that to understand what i mean) to mount your knob or select an inner diameter of your knob that enables you to push it snug onto the axle, maybe with an adhesive.
Try to adapt the "formm follows function" philosophy of Porsche if you create something new Thumbs Up

In English a "Rampa-Muffe" would equate to a “Self tapping threaded insert” , but I much prefer the sound of a "Rampa-Muffe" Very Happy

Nice, ideally you hit one of the existing recesses? Note, the headlight adjustment is activated Wink

Next one will be longer to hide the rod and with an insert to attach the screw, but in general terms looks OK. (take out the plastic is difficult but doable).

Cheers to all Eduardo

Hi Eduardo
Are you willing to share your file or perhaps sell it to me as I'm in the same situation with my gear knob.
A friend of mine have got a 3D printer and he can do the printing for me.
Regards
Andre
