Odd gremlins!
So my 2010 did something very odd today. Turning ignition on resulted in the temperature gauge going full up and no glow plug sign. I switched it on and off a few times and started. I experienced the glow plug not coming on in the past with the engine consequently not starting. Reading the codes showed no clues.... does anyone had the same happening? Cheers m

Not unusual. First check is that all the relays under the driver's seat are properly inserted and really secure. A loose connection on the main, ignition, or starter relay will do this.

The relays should be really tight in th sockets.

That sounds like the engine ECU not powering up and providing the CAN bus data for the dashboard.

As above, check power and earth feeds to the ECU.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Do you have an ODB scanner connected? I had same symptoms after disconnecting battery and not going through scanner's start-up procedures. Janusz

I will plug up and see what codes are listed. Guess earth and relays can do with a check as well:/
