Well I fitted mine yesterday whilst giving it a quick service before going away this weekend. I haven't driven it so can't comment on noise reduction yet. Can't be worse though Laughing

I had the gearbox tunnel in and out at the time I put the disco cover in so as I'd driven without the tunnel on for a day or two the sound difference was amazing!!! But it could have just been that it was much quieter with the tunnel back on Rolling with laughter Ray

Just done this on my current project...trying out the STP mat as its thicker than dynamat and easier to fit.

I also drove a few miles without the gearbox cover to find an oil leak, I can confirm it is a bit noisy. Mr. Green

Does that extra bit over the gearbox cover help? As there is already a nice piece off foam in the cover itself. The bulkhead and floors are not lined with foam so I think that is a better place to attack. Roel

Well I can't decide if it's made a difference or not. However I did notice a breeze from the transmission tunnel whilst going down the motorway so I might not have a sealed tunnel. I shall report back when I've had the carpet out tomorrow Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I put the disco gearbox cover on, while I had the trans and xfer case out (clutch, flywheel, etc... and 1.2 xfer case). The cover helps a bit with the sound and heat in the general area. All the "dynomat", heat insulation (http://www.lobucrod.com/), and stall matting coupled with the 1.2 xfer box... I can hold a conversation with my daughter at 70mph...

The cover just sits on top of the bellhousing... No fixings needed.
