Those fallow will destroy your cover crops in a heartbeat, have seen it too many times unfortunately.
If you would like a bit of deer control then more than happy to discuss Good luck with the birds, hopefully covid won't have any effect this year on the planned days. |

First day out today and I had to go without a Land Rover (due to starting/fuel pump/limp mode issues) and with no dogs - because of the above and my youngest lab has a corneal ulcer
Felt very naked indeed. Still, good day on the duck |

Having to wait until the 23rd for my first day, can’t wait!! Will get a couple of days beating and/or picking up before hand.
It’s funny, the end of the season comes and I’m just about ready for a break, the start comes and I’m raring to go. Same every year. |

Last year was a disaster for beating on the two shoots I go to.
Let us hope for a much better season this year - and no horrible surprises during the Winter.... |

I managed a day out picking up last Friday, a partridge day. It was just a great combination of weather, drives and guns, all very chilled. My 4 year old lab dropped back into it and working her felt like putting on comfy slippers. I thought she’d be a bit hot after such a break but she was steady.
Out again this Sat on a mixed partridge / pheasant day and I’m shooting (v rare this season..) so lab will be on peg duties. I’ll have to take the P38 for now. |

She’s a very sensitive soul, if I grumble at her then her confidence evaporates, but keep her positive and she’s ace. Currently looking for a stud dog locally.

Been a while since anyone posted on this thread, and given that what was supposed to be my last day of the season has just been cancelled due to the wind, I though I’d post a few pics of the season. It’s been a good one, birds have flown well and the weather has been generally very good, except today!

Pleased to say the SGC finally landed just before Christmas. We jumped on that and have had a family shoot as well as my son doing his first skeet competition. 90 V8 CSW - 1988
