I do quite a bit of airgun shooting.
Plinking at home, vermin control and at a 25 yard indoor club range where I am a member. I have a bog standard .22 BSA R10 SE super carbine with the black synthetic stock and a 3-9 x 50 Nikko Sterling Panamax scope. I also have an FAC rated 40ft/lbs Daystate Huntsman Regal XL also in .22. This one is left handed with a left handed bolt. It has a Mamba 3-12 x 44 scope on it. They are both PCP's filled from a 300bar diving bottle. In my opinion, the BSA is a cracking 12ft/lbs rifle. Well made with a good barrel, giving very tight grouping at 25 yards and it has never missed a beat. The trigger and bolt action are both smooth and it is a pleasure to shoot. The large air reservoir is great as it allows plenty of shots between recharges. The Daystate is also a joy to shoot and consistently punches holes through the bullseye at the 25 yard range. With hindsight though I should have done more homework on it. The air tank is very small so I can only get 20 shots out of it before the pressure drops off and the accuracy is lost. It's fine for walking around the fields, but you soon get through 20 shots at the range and lugging the diving bottle around isn't fun. |

R10se is a great gun, a mate uses his to good affect. Ots needed some love, reg, bolt work, but it's had some use 30k or so.
I have a 12fpe regal, love it, older harper system works Well 110 shots or so. Also running .303 fac and .22 facs. Air rangers and wolverine. Cheers James 110 2010 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

My hat goes off to you guys who are shooting clays! On Tuesday I took my own pump-action “toy” (Winchester SXP) to the range and found no problem getting all the slugs into the black of a C50 target at 50 metres. With today’s Red Dot Sights, no biggie… other than some bruising on my arm, I’ve obviously no idea what I’m doing.
But a little while ago I joined some guys whose discipline was firstly to not put the gun to the shoulder until the clays were in the air. Secondly, the clays were coming from opposite directions. And, intentionally or not, they were exactly on the horizon line, i.e . neither visible - at least to me - against the sky nor the ground. After an hour of hitting absolutely nothing I gave up! I've got an Air arms SE90 in the cabinet. Had it for, crikey, 36 years! left handed stock 'coz i'm awkward as well as ginger. Shot thousands of pellets through it down on a farm near the parents place, plinking rats and other vermin. (it's a .22) Haven't shot it in anger for ages (in fact only took it out of the cabinet last month as I had to move the cabinet) Handy to keep around though, don't think I'll ever get rid of it. Considering a 12bore bang stick though; some murmerings of one appearing from a relative are being banded around. |

Since its getting a bit warmer here, so later today I think I might indulge in some 6.5mm remote hole punching through some paper. (See, we Americans can use the metric system!)

An American once said to me: "There are countries that use the metric system... and those that have been to the moon" Peter |

Yes. Which is funny because NASA uses (and used) the metric system. 2022 Defender 110 SE P400 Tasman Blue Expedition and Cold weather package

How do you rate the vortex. Lots like the 6.5creedmore over here. I am a .222-50 or .308 man. Cheers

Can't complain about the vortex at all. I have had 6 eye surgeries and I have to admit that the super-high cost optics are wasted on me. I'm more concerned about first focal plane and durability and warranty. In that regard, vortex is the best. They are, hands down the best after-the-sale support customer service company out of anything I've ever bought. 2022 Defender 110 SE P400 Tasman Blue Expedition and Cold weather package
