Love the Gun bus.
Reminds me of a mass zombie attack in Edwardian times. |

You boys are far too modern!
What you need is a 1969 SIIA because well, it just looks at home.... Click image to enlarge (I took the photo for the birds lying on the wing of the old LR. The other "birds" just got in the way, but they had been beating too). |

aesthetically i hate it, but practicality wise to move guns and pickers up it is great. doesnt go quick which is ideal to! since changing wheels its not been stuck once. on std 9.00x16s we had to go alot quicker and still ended up stuck at times! Cheers

Reminds me a bit of the transport on the Balbirne Estate shoot I've been to a few times. The mode of transport for the beaters is a clapped out, gutted Transit minibus. Except they've fitted twin mud terrain wheels on the rear axle and singles on the front. That thing embarrased most other vehicles. Particularly since it had about 30 beaters and 50 dogs crammed into it. Ed

Anyone planning on going to the Game Fair at Hatfield? I can't decide whether to go over Saturday or Sunday - BASC members go free...

Was tempted, but will be a tough week preceding it and don't fancy the queues.
Besides, might be tempted to spend money I don't have (really fancy a new shotgun). Edit: Been told I can't have a new gun till we've paid for the Landy. 👎 |

Right, its getting to that time of year again!! I'm off to Norway shortly for a few days of grouse shooting. A friend over there has shooting rights with some other friends and I go over there for a few days and he comes to ours for a driven day in Nov. In truth it is 4 days of walking with the occasional sight of grouse in the distance. Fantastic scenery, great company, some interesting dog work and we are completely self sufficient (no motorised vehicles allowed in the national park). Its a 7 hour walk into the cabin for the first nights, and then we go on and stay in a tent. Great fun as long as relatively fit. No phone, no wifi, can't wait!

thats sounds good. where abouts in Norway? spent a few years there in total, stayed in some interesting places on various plateaus/hills - all in the snow though! Cheers
