The only possible drawback I can envisage carrying out this modification on any other truck would be that if you wanted to ft a swing away wheel carrier later on, you'd be stumped. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Both those points definitely valid I wouldn't put LED bulbs in holders on the other lights, but as you said since it's reverse I thought I'd give them a shot. Have been toying with the LED NAS lights idea, but I wanted to keep it future proof - for example, if I break one down the line, would I be able to pick up a single replacement that is the same as the others, or will they have become obsolete and I'd have to buy a complete set? At least with the standard lights, they will probably be obtainable indefinitely.
And yes, the swing away carrier problem did cross my mind once I'd fitted them The bumperettes that are fitted wouldn't allow one anyway. Pete 2010 Discovery 4 GS TDV6 1972 Series III 88" 2.25P |

I recently went Wipac LED and was considering 'doubling up' as I thought it was a great idea but I didn't look at my 90. Needless to say I hastily cancelled the extra fog and reverse when realising my error. As for the bumperette I reworked mine grinding off the original brackets subsequently fitting different angled brackets to pick up on other securing bolt locations to the swing away.

Not necessarily, depends on the make of carrier. People often say that you can't have a full compliment of NAS lights and / or a swingaway carrier and / or bumperettes but my vehicle has them all. Your truck really does look cracking with those grey Sawtooths and ST Maxxs! Pete 2010 Discovery 4 GS TDV6 1972 Series III 88" 2.25P |
