Audio system
Has anyone modified the audio system in the new defender?
That sound quality isnt that great.
What is the best audio system out there that can be fitted in the new defender?

Cheers

There's a few threads on this. The most common upgrades are larger speakers and a subwoofer. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Std quality is really bad! It is not the radio/cd. I fitted some Pioneer speakers on the front doors and improved quite a lot. Puma 110" SW

as an aside, do any of you get a popping noise through the speakers when the AF searches for a stronger signal - alsmos souds like a loose connection or bad arial earth.

Im gonna get some good rear speakers in Halfords that will fit in the original space, ill see how that goes but will probably end up with an active amp also.
Also need to upgrade the standard land rover head unit eventually....its not too bad though.

Try listening to the Archers with the aircon on and the fan on level 2 or worse still level 3 , in an effort to stop the car fogging up with 2 wet dogs in the back. Haven't got a clue what's happened this winter. And as for Desert Island discs...well every time its on it features people from both sides of the coin if you get me drift...

Best Audio System
I replaced the Speakers in my SVX, with Pioneer Two way units (same 4" size).

I also upgraded the headunit to an Alpine iDA-X305 and that with the AUDYSSEY system (Alpine IMPRINT) has given me much better, and balanced, sound quality.

Good choice draymond, my iDA-X305 arrived today Very Happy

I'm looking to have a go at fitting mine on the weekend, the main question that springs to mind is - is there somewhere obvious that everybody has their iPod connector exiting from behind the dash? Peter

in the cubby hole where your ignition is is quite a good one, then get a bit of velcro and stick your iPod onto the large vertical piece of plastic to the right of the heater / stereo 110 Tdci Double Cab
