I still have to do something similar. But would prefer to secure the Ard'case under frontal portion of the 2nd row seats, as there is space, and same time keeps it more out of the way of the 2nd row passengers feet. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

I`d have some questions about that Ardcase...
How much space is there on each pedal side? I do have some Aluminium applications (pads) from Matzker/Cologne, These are about 5mm wider on each side of the pedal. What do you think, would that stil fit? I like that lock, but they Charge an extra 44 Pounds for the LHD Version + Postage The Price ist way over 200 Pounds Does somebody know if they sell it around here? |

Hi PL
The short answer is that it won't fit. The right hand side of the brake pedal fits flush against an internal brace in the ardcase. If your pedals are larger than standard then I'm afraid it won't work Chris |

Hi Chris,
thanks a lot for that important Detail! This solution is realy nice , but i`ll have to find something else... I don`t want to criticise your Fixing of the ardcase, but i think you should put some protection material between your ardcase and car Body. Without it will damage the warnish and surface of your Landy. There is some foam material in 5mm with one self adhesive side you could use. Cheers Philip |

If you contact the lads at 'ardcase they can make/modify one to suit your particular pedal arrangements. They would probably need a photo and some measurements off you.
They are helpful lads there. Brendan |

Hi Philip,
The lads at 'ardcase are helpful. (Am brain dead at the moment and can not remember their names!) Their website is http://www.landybitsnbobs.co.uk/. We deal with them however that is just something else we have not got around to putting on our website! Take a photo with lots of measurements and email it across to them. If you need any help just let me know and will do my best. Brendan |

Hi Philiip What you can't see is the base of the fixing posts protect the ardcase from the paintwork. In effect, the ardcase sits about 5mm away from the bodywork. But thanks for the thought anyway Chris |

Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge To make access to a stowed ardcase 'easier' and fitting it to the pedals for use quicker (which encourages use at every stop!), I keep mine lashed to the front of the driver's seat box in my 110 (it doesnt get in the way even when i wear size 11 wellies). I have acoustic matting fitted throughout and on the front of the seat box I have fitted a couple of staples (military windscreen blackout/winter cover blind fitting staples) just above the ardcase. I have 2 camlock cut down roof rack straps that go through the staples which neatly hold the ardcase in place with one edge resting on the floor. it doesnt swing forward when you brake but you could add 2 floor level staples as well if you wanted. 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent Last edited by foxhound on 8th Jan 2014 6:16pm. Tell me - Why did you buy an 'ardcase pedal lock? I keep seeing lots of references to Safe T Pedal and Adrenalin and they all seem to have their devotees. What in your opinion is so much better about this security product?
p.s. The 'ardcase product looks great in that green colour, clean lines and graphics but it appears more expensive that the other types and I'm not sure if I see the extra value? |

Extremely visible - gives the impression of a secure vehicle and implies a security-minded owner who may have taken other measures.
Extremely well built - provides minutes rather than seconds of protection against "normal" tools and therefore may be seen as too much trouble for the more casual thief. Very quick to install and remove - fiddley security is a waste of money, if it takes too long to fit most people eventually stop bothering. This can be done in less than 10 seconds, on or off. Easy to store - no one wants a huge security device taking up valuable load space and this one doesn't. Ultimately it's personal and based on perceived level and type of threat, budget and attitude. The 'ardcase fits in well with my security package and I would certainly buy it again. Chris |
