Remove fuel tank on Defender 90 MY2013
Hi,

First request for help on here, have been lurking for a month since buying a 2013 D90 SW.

Am in the process of doing the rust proofing as per the excellent guide and topic on here ... extremely helpful.

I would like to remove the fuel tank to do a proper job on the rear cross member as some people do.

My researches so far indicate there are 6 bolts involved in the supporting 'tray' under the tank, 2 from the rear cross member and 4 obvious ones under the tank.

I have disconnected the filler and breather and probably the tank should be down to about 10l.

My understanding is that the 'tray' has to be shuffled sideways a bit to allow it to drop down and then the fuel pipes can hopefully be disconnected and the tank finally lowered. I have been told this is fiddly but doable.

Problem is that having removed the 6 bolts, the tray just does not want to move in any direction, sideways, forward, backwards, or even upwards.

Couldn't find any real info on this on here.

Hoping someone will help.

Thanks in advance.

Chris
