Today actually started yesterday when on the way to Birmingham the TD5 lost a cylinder or two on the M6... Managed to limp back home to Whitchurch and this morning I popped down to the local tame garage for a quick diagnostics test. This confirmed that injector 3 had lost the will to continue. Queue donning of the overalls and a call to United Diesel near Shrewsbury. Picking up reconditioned injector later today and fingers crossed all will be well again as I need to get up to Anglesey on Saturday... It just never stops...

Finally got around to installing the front diff guard from QT that's been sitting around on a shelf for the past 10 months. A tight fit indeed. Still have to do the rear one, but a bit concerned because the truck does not have the 2 bolt holes in the diff.

@johnszs, you probably got the same copper that stopped a friend of mine in his Discovery and gave him quite a lot of grief over him having a winch bumper fitted(with the winch) but having too much tyre showing from the front view. We have a very anti-Land Rover member of traffic round here

Today I have had a good Defender Day. The injector swap went smoothly and she fired up first turn of the key. Just have to wait until tomorrow to get the injector coded to the ECU properly. Have to say the guys at United Diesel were superbly quick and very reasonable. Gave me a tour of the reconditioning machines and walked me through how they do it. Highly recomended should anyone require a recon'd injector. I also installed the headlight wiring loom as well and that went very well indeed, looking forward to turning the lights on this evening. All set for the big move this weekend... |

Hi all,
Just find out this forum, seems to be a wonderful bank of informations.. Today i fitted a LED Light Bar (from SuperBrightLeds) on my TD4: its a 40" 120W Spot/Flood 9600Lu Click image to enlarge I tested them, it's quite bright, exactly what i wanted. The only problem is a small whistling when driving over 50Km/h, so i have to find out where it comes from, probably from one of the fixes or the lights cable... But overall a good look, i hope you appreciate.. Cheers T. |

Played a game of dodge the shower to fit my side steps.
The old ones had had a pretty hard life by the look of the channel they secure to as it was bent and buckled. One even had the tail of the old step where it had been gas axed off Anyway, large hammer, trip to halfrauds to buy the missing bolts (£8 for 7 bolts, man I wish I'd bought them earlier online) solved all the problems and then nip in and out between rainstorms to bolt them up. The girlfriend and my parents were pleased to see my Land Rover is now short person accessible! |
