Well, things have been go for the past 2 months and was working out mpgs etc, and with a loaded up Defender (about 2800Kg) with roll cage/ light bar/ 285 BFGs and regular off-road, she is still pulling back good figures:

This has also been on cheap fuel (not even 'Euro- Diesel) at about 80p a litre. The last 2 fill shave been more reliable fuel (Poland and Slovakia).

No idea what the foam is for as I found three big sheets in a skip in excellent condition.

Might be worth leaving the headlining out for a while just to make sure its the correct type of foam. Check to make sure its not absorbing the moisture.

I found a strip and have put it in a mug of water to see if the water level drops or the strip feels heavy/soggy 1999 Defender TD5 110

Left a strip of it in a mug of water over night and OK. Left another strip floating in a bucket of water and again, still floating, so I chopped in half and the inside isnt wet Smile .... so I guess thats a good thing. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I thought it was...No overcoat though.
We took one standard piece of foam and cut it into strips like thus. Then we place the specimen into a water storage vessel and observed the reaction......

Kinda thought. If its still floating in the morning, it will be suitable to go in the Landy! 1999 Defender TD5 110

Ignore the MPG, Fuelly seems to be playing up, I am averaging around 18 mpg, but nearly all off road driving or not much above 40 MPH on gravel tracks. Steve
