It's a 200, the 300's have a wide foam/rubberise rocker cover that is about 10inches wide, making the engine top look flat Russell

Yep 200Tdi going in. 2.5TD was a pile of ***** and I had a spare 200Tdi Defender engine sat about... no brainer really
With any luck I'll have her up and running by the end of next week, lots of connecting up of various bits to do now. And I need to get some connectors and olives to adapt the fuel line to the newer engine. |

Fitted some light guards, one of those 'life hammers' and a Mud Tray. I'm not too sure about the latter, to be honest
The guards are galvanised and have then been painted. They're mounted with rivnuts onto the wings. I've got a mud tray and I wasent sure but now I can't live without it, really useful for storing bits and bobs aswell as the cup holders, and I've got the 3 12v sockets in so I never run out of sockets. Will 2005 90 XS 1954 86'' Series 1 tilt 1968 88” 2A 200tdi 2002 110 Hardtop |

A good friend of mine has a holiday rental cottage at Inveralligin ... just along the loch - lovely area and I picked up a pair of Rigid Industriy Dualy D2s with Amber LEDs to be mounted in the bumper (like Gavin's) |

My Defender got a bit more work done on it this weekend.
Some new silicon turbo hoses replacing the aging rubber ones (hopefully to get a better airtight seal and hence better performance). ARB compressor installed on top of wheel arch just behind passenger seat, which will provide air for the front and rear ARBs, tyre inflation and for winch airspool. And, last but not least, my new D4X4 Winch bumper and Goodwinch TDS 9.5. No rope on or power to the winch, as not a priority at the mo! (Number plate is fixed on a metal backing plate which is bracketed to the top bar of the winch and is easily removable if access to the winch drum is required) Here's a couple of pics of the winch bumper. Well, as I've just re-read my post above (bottom of previous page) and I am now so chuffed with 'the look', I've changed my avatar!
Now just needs a bit of mud like Appleby's to complete the picture of a rufty tufty offroader! |
