weekend project with my eldest son: added 2 labcraft si7 worklights to the back, with some nice complicated switching:
- off - on - on when reversing, but only if I have the regular lights on. Nice combination of 2 relays. Still need to add a switch from the front. Next projects: Puma clutch spring & Landreiziger cruise control. Should be fun! |

What's the Puma clutch spring? Do you mean a modified type? No Guts, No Glory.

While trying to trace an possible earth fault, I removed the speedo dash section. Discovered why the blowers are no good and there is a lack of heat. The tube that feeds the top dash air vent was not sitting in the rubber boot at the bottom of the dash. After much fiddling I managed to get the tube to sit in the rubber boot.
Also, as I had the dash in bits. I investigated the vent control flaps not working properly. Turns out the cable clamp was not clamping the cable and allowing the cable to slip and rub on the bottom on the dash. Now instead of three positions available, there are now only two. Top click and 2nd click. No amount of adjusting gave me the 3rd click. Maybe cable too short? 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Filled the clutch master the other week when the clutch wouldn't engage. Went to drive it on Sat night to find couldn't engage first.
Double checked peddle to find oil dripping down so refilled and bleed clutch again to keep it going for another week to order a clutch master tomorrow for the weekend. Also noted power steering pump weeping way too much which will need sorting. Duckworth will be on speed dial soon. |
