Good plan, thought that might be the back-story!

Well this was not today but a few days ago, took me a couple of days to recover from the work involved. Rolling with laughter
Really pleased with these, new turret rings too.

However, the real work involved was changing springs.

So now I have, genuine new front and rear HT springs, genuine isolators top and bottom and rear wrap around isolators also.
New genuine Spring seats F&R inc fixings and retainer plates for the rear.
D44 turret rings, D44 turrets. (Turrets powder coated silver as standard, I etch primed then stonechiped - finally Dinitrol.)
New front shocks / dampers & the same rear inc genuine bushes and genuine steering damper bushes.
Completely back to genuine no Poly stuff.

It's taken me nearly a year to get all parts I needed for this down to nuts and bolts.
I am really happy with the ride quality and smoothness and glad I had the isolators as I had no lowering after changing to these from HD.
Very flexible and softer, much better articulation too due to not being so stiff.

went for a trundle around the Warwickshire country side just to enjoy the scenery and the rain, saw a bad crash with the emergency services in attendance between Lapworth and Knowle a front end flattened VW and a Transit sized van on it side (2 Ambulances in attendance suggesting some poor peoples lives have just altered).

When I got home I looked down at my scan gauge and it showed 39.5 mpg av !

Noted also a defender outside Lookers Solihull, will be passing later today so will get details and a photo or 2 if it is for sale.

bm52 - HT springs are springs for the Hard Top Defender, the springs I got were new take off from CSK.
The Dampers, again new take of and all items are Genuine parts.

Hope that helps. Thumbs Up

P.S. If your running factory springs, Spring isolators will give you a minor life all around, if your running Heavy duty springs like mine was it should be about the same.
Think mine now is every so slightly higher at the rear and a little lower at the front but exactly as a Factory HT would be only a touch lifted due to the isolators.
The turret rings also do but about 5mm Rolling with laughter

Looking good! DIY underseal is a big undertaking work and time wise and very very dirty.

It really was unpleasant.

I originally spent about half an hour and gave up.
I then ordered some disposable boiler suits of eBay. 5 for £10.
It was much better being completely covered.
It's a whole weekends work if you prepare all the metal properly.
Still it only cost about £120 total so it was a big saving.
And I'm really pleased even though no one can see it! 2002 td5 90 county hardtop
