Busy couple of days!
Friday we went from Tunbridge Wells to Staplehurst then to Canterbury for a University reunion party. Saturday, Canterbury to Tunbridge Wells with my girlfriend and my brother and his girlfriend and all their stuff. Gave the old girl a quick wash then took Mum, Dad, Brother, Brothers girlfriend and my girlfriend out to dinner, then back home. Good practice on getting the gears when your 3 wide in the front Then today took my girlfriend to work and back spotting Joel's Awesome 130 in the way home! Starting to think 2 things. 1, Everyone In Tunbridge wells must have a 130. 2, Girlfriend needs to hurry up and learn to drive so I can get another Defender on the drive Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Washed and waxed the 110 and the 88.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I know the 88 needs some paint repairs, had a bit of contact with the V-Gulley in Wales. :blub: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Pete 2010 Discovery 4 GS TDV6 1972 Series III 88" 2.25P |

Replaced the handbrake cable, brake shoes, return springs, the pegs that hold the shoes in place with the springs and cap on and the washers/spring clip that holds the stud in place that has the back plate for the handbrake cable attached to it.
I struggled to get the pin, the spring washers and the circlip in place. So I did it this way. Click image to enlarge Two welding clamps either side of the washer and one to hold the back plate to the brake shoe Then slipped the circlip in place and then a pair of pliers to clip the clip in place. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Took my son for his first ride in a Land Rover. 6 days old and a bit of an extended stay in hospital but he's home now. Disappointingly it wasn't Daddy's defender, but a courtesy Freelander, but got to be better than having to confess his first car ride was in a Citreon! 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

No, shame about the weather but a great run and some interesting sections!
It's a wee bit up from Duns, we were in Blair Atholl estate just up the A9 from Dunkeld. |
