Cheers Roddy!
It's been off the road since August so it was nice to drive her again! |

That's a nice walk, especially if you return via the forest path.

Took mine along to be on a stand for our local Land Rover Club stand at Hereford River Carnival

It was either try and find some cassette tapes, or purchase a new unit that was a bit more up to date. For a penny short of a ton, I got a Pioneer head unit that plays CDs, I can plug my phone into and play music from it, and it has a built in hands free kit so I can receive phone calls legally It all fitted easily, I had to purchase a set of leads and an aerial adaptor to hook it into the wiring that was there previously, but after showing the guy in the shop the old radio he provided me with everything required. The hands free kit requires an external microphone which I sited up at the sun visor. When running the wire down to the radio I found something down the back of the dash which confirms what Tim from Marple Road garage told me about it being ex RAF. I will find a prominent spot inside the motor to display my new find. Just as an aside, I must say that the service I got, and continue to receive from Marple Road garage made it well worth my while to do an 11 hour return trip to inspect and purchase the motor. Anyway, here is what was hiding down tha back of the dash.

It was gorgeous a couple of days ago, summer had (finally) arrived, although it is more like November now!! In fact the Haute Savoie had 64 flood warnings in place because of the rain on Friday. Not sure how much longer you have, but we're expecting another five days of constant rain. Ho hum, hope you enjoy yourself. It is just an excuse to find great restaurants for nice, long lunches!! If you're in the Chamonix area and want some top-tips, let me know... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Took the 110 ICE out for a run to Brighton, picked up a new (to me) tent... great to be back in the defender, used the cruise control steady 60, mud heater deflector working well, and new LED Headlights did not steam up... cos they are Noldens.
Satnav had a hissy, decided I lived back in CH and told me 645 miles back to home tent now demounted, rail system mods in progress, photos soon |
