Full leather has to be the worst "luxury" material in a vehicle, especially like a Defender.
It's also shaved so thin on most modern cars that it has no longevity at all. Look at all the warranty claims made on FFRR & RRS to see that. It's certainly a far lower grade of leather employed than with the likes of Rolls, etc. Waiting to see what the fully waterproof version is like from the new Disco concept. |

surely leather is the most practical material? waterproof, stain proof etc... The cloth ones aren't exactly great.
If you look at the 1/2 leather, 1/2 cloth seats on a XS defender you'll see that (in my case at least) the leather bit is lasting best, just my two cents though some like, some don't i guess - good job its an option then aha Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Well it seems like the premium seats are only available in full leather for MY15, but having sat in the premiums in the demonstrator there was no decision really, they were VERY comfortable.

The issue is the height of the seat and the action most people have in climbing in to sit down. They squash the outer seat edge and it wrinkles. In a very short time the wrinkles lead to cracks and then splits. Look at any used RRS and see the difference between the drivers seat and the front passengers.
The best material I've seen is alcantara but again I guess there's a premium version and a cheap version... |

Cracked out the bucket and soapy water and have the 110 a good old scrub up and down.
Also dragged out all the mats and gave it a good brush out. Very satisfying |

It is a once a year event at the Katwijk aan Zee Beach. More pictures here; http://www.4x4fotos.nl/?p=9456 This website is off the driver off the Niksan. He and his girlfriend make nice pictures. One of them is this one: Click image to enlarge And yes I got stuck there. Very Dutch-like organised chaos - looks like great fun & so many different types of vehicle.
Liked the video - good way to adjust the toe! Was it from a heavy landing or just driving into a bank of sand? Does it take place at the same time each year - might be visit in future years. |
