Steering wheel column casing - put Puma one on TD5?
Sat in the driver's seat of a TD5 (looking at a 110). The steering column & its surrounding wires, switches etc are housed in a more rectangular casing - that sticks out each side its corners digging into my legs.

My Puma has a slimmer more oval casing. Is it possible to straight-swap a Puma casing with the TD5 one, or get an aftermarket slimmer one,..or something else. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

The casings are identical on TD5's and Pumas, it's an optical illusion because the dash in a Puma comes further forward and covers more of it. You sit in the same position relative to both steering columns as well ....

Did you get to the bottom of this ?

I was intrigued after reading your post and as I have a 300TDi, TD5, 50th V8 and a Puma I took basic measurements of all four and they are all identical.

Identical seat box position in 90's and 130's (dont have a 110 currently), identical steering column casings, identical distance between column and bulkhead ????
