More expensive than the mobilecenter ones - but wonder if yoiu get more light output ?

On an Aussie forum they are rumored to be fitted to all new Defenders straight from the factory in 2013 !

In tests the JW Speaker 8700's seem to consistently come out on top. Only issue some seem to have with them is their looks.

TBH I think all the current LED lights are a bit weird/ugly but I'm getting used to the way my Speakers look now.
A friend of mine just commented on how bright they are Smile
Wife hasn't caught on yet - incredible, but fortunate for me Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

The only advantage I can see the hella lights having is they match the little LED driving lamps that fit SVX surrounds...

Think they (Speakers) actually look quite good and composed. LED headlamps are now being increasingly used as ex factory lights on high end cars, Audi, Lexus, etc., and contrary to HID lights which usually are one single light emitting source, those high end LEDs invariably are composed of multiple diodes, and often those diodes are also of different shapes, as the LEDs of the new A6 for instance. So the Speakers with their 3 diodes are quite composed, not Christmas tree lights effect at all. Those other ones at the head of this topic are more of a X-mas tree effect, certainly on high beam. That's my humble take at least.......
By the way, out of curiosity, who is manufacturing those? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think they look 'too busy' and cluttered. The cost is also more cost prohibitive than the JW S ones in my view.
Using the stainless steel bezels as a price comparison even they as an optional extra are 30% more expensive on your link?
Hunt around and if your determined enough I think you may source a cheaper supplier perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Funnily enough of all the 'not more bloody stuff' I've bought for ours the JW Speaker lighs gained most approval as being 'actually useful'

I think the looks are quite good hi tech clashing with retro Defender.

As to the future of LEDs , wait for next years Frankfurt show where several manufacturers have new matrix LEDs lights available, clever and only marginally more expensive than current bi xenon set ups.

I also think that they look cluttered
Just interested if anyone actually has them fitted

Also wondering if the rumor of LR fitting them was true - if it was then they should be quite good

Laughing Look at how ineffective the OEM ones are! They'll certainly be better, no doubt. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Pics of the DC100 show it with LED head lamps. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender
