One thing I didn't want to do due to warrenty is mess with the exhaust. I was told today by the tuner that I should remove the cat as soon as possible becase of heat build up.
Is this correct?

To me if there is heat build up after the map then it may be due to extra boost which defeats the objective. I don't want to just up the boost to increase performance.

Few diesel tuners up boost initially, they play with fuel pressure and other things first I thought

Alive remaps are well balanced, with modified injection duration, boost pressures and limiters, injection advance, rail pressure, driver demand, gear dependant torque limiters, Engine torque limiters, Various PID tables, and lots of other trickery such as EGR off, speed limitation, and things I will never talk about. Shocked

We know our stuff, and we've remapped hundreds of 2.4 Defenders (and quite a few transits with EGR off too!), every one with a unique remap to meet individual customer requirements.

Regards,

Gary.

That's intriguing. How does the ECU know what gear the vehice is in?

I did consider that before I posted, but I didn't think it would be that simple.

Just thought I would share this link that Pete from BAS did some time ago re mapping a Puma 2.4 and the research that goes into the process.

I think what folk forget is that BAS were the original company to map a 2.4 Puma, were the first to remove the speed limiter and the first to share the process of how a re-map is done Bow down

I am not knocking anyone else or trying to say one is better than the other, but this is where it all started and not only for the Puma 2.4 Thumbs Up

Now read and enjoy;

"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

With that attitude, FWD automotive company was the first company to manufacture a 4x4 off-road vehicle- so does that mean Land Rovers are inferior as they weren't the first?

It is a market out there- just because someone makes the first it doesn't mean they are the best Wink Thumbs Up Shop around.

OK before this turns into an argument.........i couldnt care who is first, who is the biggest or who has the biggest what-se-ma-call-it........

It was a tough decision between 2 main companies.....both offer brilliant service and both have brilliant reputations........

Bruce, that is the political way of putting what I said Thumbs Up

I just went for the company that gave me what I wanted with the most efficient service. It was that simple Mr. Green .
