Uses radar off the front of the vehicle to sense vehicles ahead and allows you to set one of 4 pre-determined distances to hold station from. Very useful in the outside lane when the traffic moves at variable speeds between 40 and 80 mph. It means you never have to brake or accelerate but just leave the cruise control to adjust speed to maintain the set distance. |

No currently not availablr for the Defender, hence my original question as to whether any of the clever bods out there were looking to lift the system off the RRS and retro-fit it.

Have a look here, I believe these offer the same basic kit or indeed "enhancements" with multiple preset speeds - they might have the manuals online also:

Hi,
Imported a cruise from UK to Australia, had it fitted by a licensed fitter here, besides purchasing the Puma its the best investment I have made. Drove from Brisbane Qld to Broome, and into the Pilbra, (very heavy area, have been to Africa and it compares to the worst of terrain there). Great investment! Hi,
I had mobile centre unit fitted by Commander, in Australia they cannot be fitted by a non licensed person owing to safety regulations. All plugs were plug and play, great unit and service from Mobilecentre…. Regards WMcA WMcA Brisbane Australia Defender 2.4 Puma 2009 “Airbags! The other vehicle is my crumple zone!" |

I know this is an old thread, I am hoping that you still have a copy of the fitting instructions and photo's of your install still handy. I am thinking of buying one of these cruise control units and keen to see your install. Thanks in advance |
