Not that then. Could be splines on the drive shaft worn ?

So I'm busy trawling this site looking for some answers myself.
I have a MY10 D90, 32k on the clock, clutch changed 3k ago under warranty, came back as tight as a models pert tush. But I digress, this honeymoon lasted about a month and now, 3 months later, I had been getting more obvious drivetrain slack and then 2 days ago pulling off from a slight incline the transmission just stopped working, all I got was grinding when trying to release the clutch but no forward movement, nothing in low and diff lock. Got towed to the dealer(LR Cape Town) after calling LR Assist and they pulled the transmission, they tell me it's a intermediate gear shaft between the gearbox and transfer box, outer splines completely worn, they also said they have never seen this on a new model so lucky me I guess. |

Do you mean a sharp 'clack' or a heavy 'clonk'? The clack 'normal', a clonk is probably not. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |
