John, a standard 90/110 pick up wheel carrier will NOT fit a 130.

The rear cross member is fully under the rear tub.

it would require a big bracket fitted to rear cross member to extend to back of the tub. The problem I would envisage is the leverage effect of weight of spare wheel.

I beg to differ Brendan - on any Hi-Cap you are correct but a 'standard' 130 should be ok.

This is a photo of a mate's old 130 with a wheel carrier fitted to the rear cross-member.

Edited to add; If the original question was for a 130 HC then my answer was indeed, a load of cobblers Laughing John

I thought that all 130's had the HC tub too.

Sonic, is your carrier still available - are you still making batches? I do get asked occasionally about the one I have on my DC, and am never quite sure what the position is. Are you the person to contact, or is it Alisport now?

After a year of using my Sonic carrier I still reckon it's the best, and can't recommend it highly enough. Apart from being the only one I have yet found that works really well with a tailgate, I also use mine to stand on to access the roofrack. Definately money well spent!

Not sure, I know a lot are HC - perhaps they were a SV build then? John

That is one of the 'interesting' things about Land Rovers. The number of variations that are around.

Hence why I say ensure that any piece of aftermarket kit will fit your particular Land Rover and is compatible with anything else you are likely to buy!

Sonic, I have no idea where they got the idea of high/low mount position from.

Safari do a wheel carrier for pick ups but not single pivot ones

Kaymar do a single pivot one (IIRC) for pickups. However the price is eyewatering!

Brendan does the safari equip single pivot swing out with the door or is it a two stage operation to open the rear door?

Kmac it is a single operation for single pivot rear door.

For the Kaymar single pivot and most of the other swingaway wheel carriers on a drop down tailgate it is a two operation opening.
