Fitting an Entreq rear load sill
I'm fitting an Entreq load sill to my 90 Defender. All straightforward except that I am not sure what the the nylon washers are for. Presumably to isolate the SS from the ali? But that is already done by the lower door seal? - at least it is once I dug all of the embedded swarf out of it.

So does anyone know what these nylon washers are for?

I could be wrong but on top of what you mention about isolating the SS from the Alu. It may also be to stop the holes being pulled in too much when the screws are tightened down. If you know what I mean. Thumbs Up No Guts, No Glory.

Right. They are to make flat install, to adjust space insert under the SS. See their installation manual, rather in German: http://www.entreq.de/media/uploads/Montage...eisten.pdf Cheers, Vincent

Thanks guys, The PDF refers to the side door sills whereas I'm fitting the rear door seals - that's my next job so expect another post.....

The rear sill seems to have fitted evenly without the nylon washers so i will leave it at is I think

entreq stainless rear door strip
I also was wondering when I replaced mine.
I eventually left them out and in order to be safe re: cathodic corrosion I applied a smidging of 'Duralac' to the original drilled screw holes. Todate no corrosion Wink
