happens still with soundproofing, im guessing you could make an extended rubber mudflap of some sort even one hidden up a little higher as its the stones flicking from the tyres upwards

Layers of stone chip paint helps. As I had a tin left over I used 'Waxoyl Stone Chip' gloop just for the inner arches

Wouldn't Entreq wheel housing splash plates help here? I am thinking of getting them, worth your while you think to reduce the noise from stones being thrown up by the tires
![]() ![]() Here is what I refer to: http://www.entreq.de/products/protection/r...e=english# You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

A liberal coat or two of Schutz stone chip paint on the exterior of the wheelarch panels helps. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Has your Defender been waxoyled? Mine used to do the same as the stones are impacting against a painted metal surface. As stated a couple of layers of waxoyl under the arches will deaden the impact.

Thank you for anyone who has posted a reply, I have had the wheel arches waxoiled and I will update the post once I have run it for a few weeks. May also get some noise killer in the boot area.
