England 1994 Defender 110 300 Tdi SW Santorini Black
Hello everyone, just joined the forum and having a good read through.

I'm busy building my own dream Defender, more of a best of the bits I like than a bling mobile.

So far its the daily driver so work is done in stages

Defender 110
Galvernised Chassis
300 Tdi engine with fuel injection pump adjustments
Allard big intercooler and silicone hoses
Discovery R380 manual gearbox
Discovery transfer box
Wheel spacer kit for improved turning circle and stability
Boost alloys

Now for the major bit....

Defender 2010 puma bulkhead complete with dash and a fantastic heating system and all the warning lamps too
Heated front seats
Puma bonnet and front end with the air con grille

Defender 300 exhaust downpipe
Defender 110 Td5 straight through mid pipe, modified
Defender 90 Tdci tailpipe, which side exits instead of all over my caravan, sounds good but thats down to personal taste cause it is a bit roary but better than a 300 without any silencing.

Future work will include newer doors and a replacement rear tub

Quite a list but all the work was done myself in my own time and with access to stuff to see what does and doesn't work
I've seen a few guys on other forums shy away from a tdci bulkhead because of the ecu and stuff but most of it doesnt even need it and I certainly don't have an ecu onboard. The biggest issue is cost and accepting that it aint no five minute job

Anyway see what yas make of it and Ill get back to enjoying the site
Thanks
Carl

I'm a bit retro and off topic a little bit
2a swb galv everything just add a proper modern diesel , discs all round and some diff locks

Don't care about the noise comfort etc that's what d3 and their like are for

Yeah true

Classics are cool and let's face it the ancestors of defender
My series 1 was very nimble round town and on parabolics so not too harsh just could have done with Td5 like performance and good brakes to match

TDV8 90 couple of light mods. Just simply put together with care and parts that are made from the best materials rather than cheapest. Better sound proofing. Drive chain that can deal with a bomb blast so it can cope with my terrible driving.

Also nice 8 speed auto with flappy bits on steering wheel. Proper built in sat nav and decent speakers.

No crappy carpet that just collects dirt. Nice hose down interior so I can take the wife out without her dress getting dirty.

A "90" with R.R. Sport 5L SC engine & running gear sounds good to me.
Cheers, Pickles.

Sport chassis is too big for me. Like the smallness of the 90.

90 Chassis is fine with me too.....Just want 375KW......I know it's ridiculous.....but, it'd be "interesting"!

My ultimate build would be as follows

90 Station wagon in Keswick green with Puma bonnet, safety devices 50th anniversary rollcage, NAS rear step, NAS lights, Overfinch Apollo alloys, full XS Puma interior, sunroof, charcoal alcantara headlining, additional instruments, etc - nice but not too flash.

Then add 6.3-litre Edelbrock-tuned Chevy V8 with uprated 4-speed auto, uprated diffs, axles, brakes, steering box,etc etc etc and finish it off with a massive twin exhaust system sticking out of the back that wakes the dead.

Where could one find such a machine?
