Always GL4 in gearbox, GL4/5 transfer box, GL5 diffs.
Thats what I go by anyway, mineral EP90 is thick compared to fully synth.
Uses more fuel, not so sure mineral is so good with seas either such ... |

100% check your fan, should lock up at first start, then the centrifcal forces, slowly open the clutch to free spin.
Also check the blade for any cracks, when they let go, they go!

If you still suffer with hot running, try some water wetter depending on what you're running in terms of coolant, 50/50 water (distilled preferred) and water wetter will help.

Yes, its a big issue, i only use ERR3340, on my 3.9EFI.
Stripped a few down and even seen the cartridge squashed, creating more of a restriction. Dam Chinesium filters!

Front near side wheel bearing, decided to give up, usual brake spongy feeling, then a shake, caught just in time before it really got hot. Mind you it welded the inner race to the stub axle.
