Clutch hose upgrade
This looks like a nice bit of kit:

Has anyone had one fitted? Might be worth adding to the stock levels before any clutch change at a later date, of when not if. Hopefully not too soon. Laughing

I would imagine quite a few of these factory fitted hoses are getting quite a bit older now, I seem to remember there was some supply issues regards these from LR as well.
Possibly still the case now as well? ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Hi.. I fitted the flexible pioneer clutch hose between master and slave cylinder connections shortly after doing my clutch about a year ago..
After fitting the clutch I was getting a black debris appearing in the master cylinder reservoir...the only part of the clutch system that I hadn't replaced was the rigid metal pipe and flexible rubber section ...so in an attempt to stop said contamination possibly from the flexible section of rubber pipe I replaced the lot with a pioneer flexible pipe..
It helped a bit.. ie the debris took longer to appear but it still does , though nothing like as quickly or in the quantities that it did just after the clutch replacement...
Just cleared it out and bled it all again last week to clear a little debris that had gathered in the bottom of the master cylinder reservoir and as I said that's a year on from changing every clutch system component..
No real difference in the operating characteristics of the clutch by fitting it that I noticed..

Yeah, I don’t think there is much that can be done about the hydraulic oil contamination other than changing it periodically bi annually along with brake fluid.

I think it’s the seals in the MC, and there isn’t much that can be done with that.

The fluid isn’t that difficult to change and bleed contrary to popular belief, a stubby spanner fits the flats on the bleed valve, just the bleed valve needs to be handled with care, pretty much considered fragile.
So long as you are careful with the bleed valve all should be okay, some people make their own special tool but I found a stubby spanner with flats would fit up there without issues and has a good feel so all that’s needed it to just close the bleed valve nothing more and only need opening just a little no more than a turn or two max. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I'm definitely a fan of the special tool you describe for the puma clutch bleed valve..mine is just a 2 inch round piece of alloy about 1/4inch thick with the profile and flats of the bleed valve cut out of the centre..
Just snap that over the nipple onto the flats and leave it in place..it's tight enough in there without trying to fit a spanner on to it..
The bleed valve only operates through 180 degrees of movement.. so it's so easy to just pop your hand up onto the alloy disc and turn it to open and close the valve just like a tap head..👍

I fitted a Pioneer 4x4 one, as the original was starting to fail, fluid was turning black in a few days, and it was hit & miss on changes.

Only tough part was removing the original one, thats fitted to the bulked head, the fitting was SS and a mare to remove, used a venhill vampire to bleed and it was easy from there on in.

Clutch feels good, good quality, you remove a lot of the plastic connectors that the original uses, so all the week points disappear.
