Yeah the HV battery will keep the 12v battery topped up 👍

Do you mean the 12v cigarette lighter socket or do you have the 230V 3 pin socket too?
Either way though, they will only be powered up when the ignition is on so you won’t be able to leave a frid ... |

Yep the standard steps are pretty low, and the new defender is quite “barrel” sided so that the step isn’t really any further out than the centre of the door.
